Small Business Quality Job Framework

Main Street Assembly worked with a leading nonprofit to develop a framework for small businesses to provide quality jobs to employees and remain competitive in the post COVID job market. The development process included identifying the most impactful practices in the market and testing them against industry specific financial and capacity constraints that exist for small businesses to maximize adoption and long term sustainability. Multiple prototypes were vetted through interviews and surveys of small business owners and intermediaries in the restaurant and retail industries across the United States. The final framework incorporated practices that led to employee economic mobility, wellness and satisfaction, and maximized retention and productivity for businesses.
